Writers' BlogHello world! My name is Josh, but I'll be going under the pen name of Zach for my time writing this comic. So, without further ado, let's have at some explanations. The webcomic you are viewing is known as True Villains, and was inspired by the popular nintendo game; The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess. How you ask? Well, I was watching my friend fight Ganondorf, and he takes out his fishing rod, dangles it int he air for a second, and the boss just kinda stares at it entranced for a second. Then my friend draws his sword, hits him a few times, and does it again. Rinse, wash, repeat until dead. What was the
world of villains coming to? So I said; "Wouldn't it be interesting to make some game, or book, or... Or even a webcomic, where the main villain wasn't an idiot? He never takes risks, he never makes mistakes... A perfect villain, a TRUE villain! It would be great!" Then we went on, talking about it. Alot. And I said; "Heck, why not? Let's make a webcomic!" The next day, a terrible realization dawned on me.
I couldn't draw to save my life. It was like the soul crushing disapointment of finding out your UPS delivery with a pre-ordered copy of a good video game was going to arive a week late. I sulked in a corner for days. Well, hours, actually, but that's not the point. So! I let the project go for a bit. But then, during my summer theatre program, I was talking to my friend Maddie, who was showing me some of her drawings, and she challenged me to give her a person to draw. So I did. It was a character I had wanted to put in this very comic, ironically, the one where my pen name came from, Zach (you'll meet him
way on in). So, what else do I say but; "Hey, do you want to draw for my webcomic?" And she did. So that's how it goes. We're co-producers of this webcomic, a comic about a villain. The one villain, TO RULE THEM- (is shanked in the face by Golum).
Err... Yeah. Sorry. So, if you have any comments, please leave them. I'll need to OK them before they're put on the site. We'll put up a new comic every saturday, and be sure to include the apropriete holiday specials. That's about it. Now, you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the work which is the product of Maddie working her fingers to the bone, and me sitting back and laughing at her.
Did I just say that out loud? Oops. Oh yeah, full credit for web design goes to my dad. One last thing. I appologize for the mis-spelling/correct grammar on anything I ever put in my blogs. I'm not a trained writer.
